Gembikei Gorge

In addition to our taking a lot of photographs, Yoshiko did some sketching. There actually wasn't a whole lot else to do at the gorge so we got a lot of pictures.

There was a suspension bridge for pedestrians crossing the downstream end of the gorge.

The ropes placed along the edge of the gorge were just for warning. They wouldn't hold anyone from falling in.

Across the gorge from ouy ryokan was a glass works. We didn't visit it.

The next morning we took another walk around before catchin the bus to the train station. The morning light was quite different from the afternoon light we had whe we first arrived. Morning Scenes -           pnext.gif
