Japan 2001
Narai

We left early on a Friday morning, Masako, Michie, Yoshiko and Steve, for a two day trip to see some of the old post towns on the old Nakasendo Road. This post road between Tokyo and Kyoto passes through relatively obscure valleys and have been well preserved. Many scenes along this were created by Hiroshige for his woodblock prints. The two towns we visited were Narai and Tsumago. This is the first time the four of us have taken a trip all together. We took the express train from Shinjuku station to Shirojiri at which point we boarded a local train to Narai. There are five pages of pictures of Narai.
